The Scarfie Rideshare website is provided by Dunedin City Council and is designed to be a transportation tool for staff and students at the University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic. The ultimate objectives are:
Rules of the Scheme
| 1. | The Rideshare parks can only be used by Rideshare users who: | |
| a. | Are at least 15 years of age and | |
| b. | Register as a carpool participant and | |
| c. | Display at least two valid tokens in clear view on the dashboard of the vehicle and | |
| d. | Have all token holders in the vehicle at the time of parking | |
| 2. | The Rideshare scheme runs all year round between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. | |
| 3. | The Rideshare parks are located in various locations around the campus, see map, (Please note this map is in PDF format, you will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer in order to view and print it.) | |
| 4. | You cannot obtain a Rideshare parking token if you live in the North Dunedin/City Centre area. See map for area covered. (Please note this map is in PDF format, you will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer in order to view and print it.) | |
| 5. | To be a Rideshare participant you must register on this website every year. | |
| 6. | 2010 tokens will be available from 2 February, so please obtain and display these as soon as possible. | |
| 7. | The parking tokens are valid until 28 February 2011. | |
When you register for a Rideshare, you can choose to be sent an email list of potential carpool partners. It is then entirely up to you to contact the candidates and make travel arrangements. The Scarfie Rideshare puts you in touch with rideshare candidates, but YOU make the decisions about your travel arrangements. Please see the important information in the Disclaimer Statement.
